Turn your office into a venue in a few easy steps!

May 31, 2016

Offices come in all shapes and size these days, in the major cities even more so as they come up with innovative, fresh and funky ways to use space all the time. Your office represents your company and is a direct reflection on your brand and how you do business, if you decide to host your event within your office; it could be the perfect opportunity to show off your company’s values and style. Not only will it keep costs down but you can also really put your stamp on it!

First things first, set the tone, consider what the occasion is and how you want guests to feel, is it informal and relaxed or is it a very special occasion? Agree a theme or at very least a colour scheme, could even be your brand colours if a more corporate event, this can be easily achieved by simply colour coordinating anything from napkins, flower arrangements or props.

Lighting can dramatically change the look and feel of a place, turn off those square ceiling tiles and if your budget allows, hire some uplighters or special feature lighting pieces to create atmosphere. You can quickly achieve a new look from daily office to quiet relaxation areas or even a party dance floor!

If you’re on a tight budget try throws to soften sofas and quirky table cloths to change the office desks to event worthy presentation tables. Those with a bigger budget might want to hire a few poseur tables and bistro chairs or even just a couple of quirky pieces of furniture in keeping with your event.

This can be anything from tea lights to flowers, fabric lining the walls, pop up bar or even interesting floor props to encourage conversation. For example if it’s a new advert launch, an old retro projector with cinema style chairs and popcorn booth would be simple yet effective.

Entertainment might not be appropriate at all types of event, but consider background music to set the tone or even some affordable DIY games if it’s a team building event, something as simple as treasure hunt around the office or using the blackboard/white board for team games. If you want to be extravagant you could book a musician or magician for a bit of lighthearted fun.

However you decide to hold your office party, remember food is a key element and has the power to make or break the everything. Being a catering company ourselves we understand the importance of the food on offer to your guests, we are always happy to discuss your catering requirements to make sure the food really accentuates all the hard work you have put in to arranging the event.
